These days it seems like everyone is talking about “going green” and environment protection issues seem to be the focus. And there are indeed a couple of different kinds of used cars available which qualify in general as the so-called “green vehicles”. But what does it mean for a second-hand car to be green? As per definition which is to be found on websites of government institutions and environment protection agencies, a green car is a vehicle that is considered to be environmentally friendly and have less of a damaging impact on the environment than conventional used cars. The used cars which are seen as green are then supposed to consume less petroleum and present a possibility to use renewable energy sources to fuel their engines. So what to concentrate on while taking a second-hand machine with a view of possessing a greener car? First, one may look for the so-called clean diesels. Unbelievable as it may sound, the greenest used cars on the road now are simply variation of the diesel power plant. The more astonishing fact may be to know that those used cars have been around for quite few years now.
